Cirkus from Sweden present a big top of sleazy rock and roll in the grand tradition of Aerosmith and Mötley Crüe. Pursuing the crown with a mighty vengeance, their debut CD Let The Madness Begin is a prolog of riches and decadence to come. Charismatic vocalist Roux’d has a star quality that shines throughout the material, his bad boy image oozing out with fiendish glee through the various tracks. Snetan rocks it out like a true guitar hero in the making, while Maston on bass and Ric on drums serve up a tight and gripping rhythm section.

Opening track Trashy definitely lets you in on the rambunctious fun, and is easily the band’s most solid anthem. Chexx Mate is another outstanding track about loose women, infectious beyond belief, with the fantastic ending line, “Back in the day, they used to call you witches, Now it’s bitches.” Fuck ‘Em N’ Flee is an all-out ballsy rocker that should be a total crowd pleaser when performed live. Everlong Lasting is a compelling track featuring a profound social commentary on today’s world and rocks it out furiously with its epic 6-minute length.

Be sure to stick it out to the grand finale, when Cirkus performs a tremendous cover of the classic T. Rex song Get It On (Bang A Gong). Let The Madness Begin is like the wild party you wish would never end; and is required listening for all who like classic, down-and-dirty rock and roll. Here’s hoping this Cirkus comes to town, and soon!!!
